Original Drawings - The Adventures of Cousteau and his Team

For the first time, we have brought together the original black and white drawings from the 17 books in the ‘bandes dessinées’ series "The Adventure of Cousteau and his Team." In 3 volumes, more than 650 drawings are presented without color, allowing amateurs and collectors to appreciate their artistic quality, their great precision, created with ‘encre de chine’, pen and brush.

This graphic novel series was created by French artist-illustrator Dominique Serafini, with the complicity of the famous French explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, best known for his legendary film "The Silent World.” These drawings recount an exceptional scientific / ecological adventure.

During the team’s expeditions to the far reaches of the world, Dominique Serafini drew thousands of sketches which were later used to make the books.

To make these drawings, the artist-adventurer-diver took his drawing board on board the Calypso and he accompanied the divers of the likes of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Jean-Michel Cousteau and Albert Falco in their missions around our blue planet.

Some of these original drawings (50cm x 65cm), part of diving history, are for sale directly by the artist.
